New Legacy Project Inc. (NLP inc.) was the brainchild of a group of local business associates in 2013. The group was disappointed to see the deteriorating effects that urban flight had on the middle-class neighborhoods of Baltimore. Determined that lost jobs, failed businesses, foreclosed homes, and civic complacency was not the legacy that they envisioned for their community, the group strategized on how to uplift their neighbors. The New Legacy Project Inc. is a IRS recognized 501(c)3 non-profit community development organization incorporated in 2015 after 2 years of informal community activism.
